Sunshine - Hooray!!

a couple of photos taken early this morning in my work room........sunlight & shadows instead of dreariness & rain.

 the doll & her dress were cut from fabric & glued onto cardboard.

 sunlight & shadows on the shelf........red always brightens things......

the bird, at the bottom & the cows are made from maps , not sure who the artists are.......very clever use of paper,......there are lots of little cuts in the bird.

Bread Board Painting

trying  something  different .......i had an old bread board which i painted roughly with gesso.......

sanded some off  when it was dry.......did a fairly quick sketch on it with water soluble crayons, rubbed with my fingers in some places to smudge it, added some water in other bits & then sanded it roughly to give an aged look. if you click onto the photo you will see the detail of this process.

my altered book is growing........
i have been doing other creative things........just have to take some photos.........very rainy & overcast here , so apologies for these photos not being so clear.

365 creative challenge 2013........

four more pages from my altered book , the first photo  shows a collage with some faber castell pitt pen......
the next page i added some collage to a picture from the book & more pen.
the one with the collage clock has text highlighted with gel pen, a freehand grid drawn & coloured with pitt pens.
i used different shades of grey & black pitt pens in the negative space to highlight the simple line drawing of birds.
i have been going through my magazine collection........de-cluttering & recycling ........or just making space for a few new ones!
every time i flick through a magazine i see images that i can piece together.......".every picture tells a story"......so the saying goes.
