Gallery of Crochet

I recently had some sitting down time...
so had to do something to keep the fingers busy...
started with leftovers in the wool stash...
but had to end up buying some new stuff...

ta da...
the end results...

Crochet bag and bunny

and the milk bottles reappeared with a bit of crochet around the top...
great for the kids to carry stuff around in...
or to hold the shampoo bottles in my toiletry bag...

and then the rabbit appeared...
only had leftover bits of cotton to make her...
but she found a home very quickly...

about that wool....

just a couple of projects finally finished...
above is some knitting that needed extending...
so I crocheted a border...
still small...but that's all there is...
getting a bit tired of all the red....
found these bits...some knitted...
so dug out some pale tone wool...
and edged them all with crochet and put them together...
I found a moccasin pattern...
for little feet...
not really happy with them so will have to have another go...
they're back in the "think about it" pile...

apologies for the photo quality...
it's the camera's fault...
it can't fix the shaky hand or old eyes..

Crochet for Babies......

"blossom top beanie & slippers" pattern from "family circle magazine - winter 2012".....
....& a baby bonnet & bootees pattern from "mollie makes magazine issue 36".molliemakes.com

this week has just disappeared,  tried to think what i have done besides housework, cooking etc.
visiting family, shopping, visit to the vet, spent two days sorting out my collage paper stash, re-organized my shelves to "organized clutter", tidied up my desk.....i can actually see some of it now!  watched a movie, finished these baby presents, no painting time this week, but did go out for lunch one day....& the sun still shines so all is well.

Things I Like To Do......

trying some baby bonnets & attempting some new stitches.

also trying to paint clouds for art class......have decided "i really don't know clouds at all"

the days just seem to fly.....spend most of my time outside painting while the weather is warm.
nights are down to single figures,
been cooking warming  foods at night, casseroles & soup.
i baked bread.....gluten free that is. tasted better than i expected.
have had to get the jumpers & cardigans out, & the boots. the scarves will be next. i don't like to have to wear lots of layers, can't really complain about our climate compared to the southern states, that's why we live up here, much warmer.
how is the weather at your place? are you doing wintry things? or maybe spring things?
whatever it is i hope you are doing things you like to do too.

Nature Collage - 365 Creative Challenge 2013

yesterday's collage today......my grand daughter gave me the gumnuts & feather  to use in a collage.
i rescued the cardboard, christmas  wrapping paper & raffia from the bin, & the hessian & old bits of doily were scraps from the wedding decorating.
all put togetther  with gel medium on an old book cover.

two more to go!

Crochet

in a recent fit of tidying up...
I found some old sheets I'd been keeping for something...
lovely soft old flannelette one got a tear in it so I started stripping...
then found the large crochet hook...
then created a circular mat...
then a yellow sheet appeared so I had a go with it...
this time I tried a doily type circle...
probably a bit cute but not really so nice to step on...
bit lumpy...
and then I found this shruggy that I haven't finished yet...
another doily style pattern...
that has slits for the arms to go through...
may finish it one day...

Booties for the boy

I was shown a photo recently of a pair of booties...
so I decided to try and find a pattern to see how hard they were to make...
joined the Ravelry site...
and thanks to Loopysue...
who had cleverly worked out a pattern...
ta...daa!!

took a few goes but I got it in the end...
just have to hope they fit him in a month or so...
when he will wear them to a themed wedding...

they even have a non slip sole...
so his walking attempts wont be so slippery...

Chequered Crochet Rug

morning sun provides back lighting for this photo.......of my completed crochet rug.......
most of the blue/aqua  yarn came from the op shop, i bought a few balls of  bright colours to add some contrast.
the rug measures 54'' or 137cm. approximately.
the pattern is from a "Busy Needles" magazine dated 1981!
i crocheted a square then added a border around the edge, increasing at the corners.....
....& stitched in all the loose ends.
i think this counts as creativity....& could be part of the 365 creative challenge 2013........what do you think?
