Patchwork Bag

found a use for the piece of hexagon patchwork...
and made the scraps into button flowers...

still don't really like the patchwork..
but I do like the light colour interior of the bag...
much easier to find things and cool satin touch...

just details of the button flowers...above
and the woven mesh pocket detail...below
which is actually the seams of the original shirt cut in a strip...
then woven into square shape and sewn to hold together...

Quilts and curtain

blues and yellows...
saved from a pile of mens shirts and uniforms...

found stuff...
lovely old scarves...
not shown so well here...
but lets a lovely light into the western facing room...

another black and blue quilt...
done in the raggy style...
with enough left for a shoulder bag...

Tea For Two.......

the hanging did live on a wall somewhere in the house, i can't remember where.
it's next place of abode was on the seat of a chair, & as things come & go it went to a box in the cupboard along with other bits & pieces that had out lived their lives.
every now & then i pull these boxes from the cupboard to see what they contain, & to see if there is anything that can be reused.
along side the wall hanging there were pieces of block printed calico left over from previous bag makings. most of them blue, my favourite.
one can never have too many bags, so here is my newest.
a good size for shopping or carrying sketch books, or lunch.

 ......lined inside, with a pocket......
 .........the back, long handles.....
......or short handles.

Another BoHo bag

well hello again...
just another bag from the same pattern I found a while ago..

very similar to the first one...
as I still have enough of the faux denim that needs to be used...
and a few jeans pockets that need a home too...

the red satin is from a pillowslip...
just enough to do the lining...

all done and ready for the wash...
have cut the edges to get a raggy effect after washing...

Embroidered Patchwork Bo Ho Bag Collaboration

i found a really informative tutorial for a "patchy bo ho bag" here,
but decided to make the straps & gusset in one piece from some floral furnishing fabric (not enough silk & taffeta for the straps) the white lining is the reverse side of this fabric, a couple of pockets on the inside from scrap material, & some pearly buttons for the flower centres. machine stitched stems & grass in orange to add a bit of warmth to the purple silk daisies & the patchy blue  flowers.

denim look bag

I found a bag pattern...
yay!!

and then the material I'd been looking at for a while..

and then I too decided on a new machine...
so I had to have a play...

old jeans pockets I'd been saving...
two on the inside...
four on the outside...

finished bag sits on the shoulder and tucks under the arm...
will have to try it out now...

Bag Made From Brown Cargo Pants

stitched some loops from braid on to the top of the bag to hold the circle & square plastic thingys ( from swimwear), to put the straps through to make handles......

then stitched the hand printed "ess-arr" label on to a pocket flap...... then stitched the lining to the outer part of the bag........cut the top from a pocket & pocket flap that was on the leg of the pants & stitched it onto the top of the bag .......this became the snap closure .......
the gusset of the bag is made from a sample piece of floral cotton furnishing fabric......then piped around the edges with a stripey cord......added a bit of bling with a broken brooch.........ready to go.......all of the materials used were either given to me or bought from op shops.

Brown bag, purple Iris & Tablecloths....

In the process of making a bag from a pair of brown cargo pants, floral furnishing sample, a scarf for the lining & some braid, all purchased at various op shops from my travels.
I have used the top of the pants as i wanted  pockets on the outside of the bag.
Another op shop find was this stripey cotton fringed bedspread that i am using as a tablecloth.
Will show you further steps from the bag making process soon, i am kind of using a pattern but making some up as I go. (raylee).

Duffle Bag...maybe

had someone looking to make a bag...
they found some old denim jeans...
started to pull them apart...
and then left them in my stash...too hard...
so I found some contrasting pink leftover from someones pretty skirt..

the logistics of making the lining escapes me...
so I went with the shaggy style and cut the lining with the main shapes...
then sewed them together...rough I know...
plaited the seams to make one handle...
hopefully it will last for a while...
and its done...
hope they like it...

Horse Shoe Bag Underway......

Do you get an idea of what you want to make but don't seem to have all the right bits?.....this happens to me every now & then......i have learnt to be patient.......wait & the right bits appear......on her last visit, simonne brought me some of her bits she had no use for......i found some embroidered "horse shoes", just the right thing for this new bag! I am making it for someone who loves horses..... so have combined the two different kinds of shoes keeping to the "shoes bag theme". (raylee).
