Rhys & His Penguin

Boys have been making their presence felt this last month.......it has passed so swiftly. Rhys is wearing a jumper, shirt , & jeans made from the same, to keep him warm. Penguin has a little crocheted scarf to help keep the winter chills at bay. It is still summer here, but it gets cold where these two are going to live.

New Dress for Nellie

Do you remember Nellie? she is one of my first dolls to appear on the blog. her owner brought her back to me as she needed a new outfit. so here she is in a dress made from hand block printed cotton sheeting that was leftover from a bag. the petticoat is black organza from an op shop dress. the belt is black shoe lace cord . Both girls went home happy. a new outfit works wonders.....the smile is worth more than any amount of dollars to me. (raylee).

She has taken her time getting dressed, but she made it. Eloise is a calico doll with raggy strips for hair, & green ribbons for her pigtails. her face is hand painted & she has freckles across her nose. her dress is made from a green satin blouse with odd gold buttons down the left side front. her pants are made from two embroidered table napkins..........
.....now she has her makeup on, & her tag to say where she came from, she is ready to leave for her new home. Eloise is on her way to" The Mirabel Foundation", in Melbourne. i hope she makes some special person as happy as i was to make her! (raylee).

Moonbeam

The idea for this doll came from the purple tie dyed fabric in her dress, which said 60's, hippie, stylish but casual. all her accessories are from the op shop. she is from the same pattern as the other dolls, the only change is her painted face. i made her on the full moon last month . Molly

Molly was created when a little girl asked if she could help to make a doll, so we put all her ideas together & here she is! made from tea stained calico, with raggy hair & a floral top , spotted skirt & shoes from the scrap bag & some discarded fishnets complete her outfit.the tutu (top right corner of picture) reminds me of some other little girls from long long ago. not a lot of posting lately (work & school holidays), but we hope to get more creative very soon. i tried some of almas recycled magazine ideas out with help from kids, we completed three books, it was easy & fun & didnt take too long. i have another bag started along the same lines as the random denim one , will post it soon.
